Responsibilities
- Provide legal guidance to public agencies, including cities and special districts, on matters spanning from land use and contracts, to governance
- Draft and review ordinances, resolutions, and policies to ensure compliance with state and federal laws
- Represent clients in planning commissions, administrative hearings, and city council meetings
- Offer training to public agency staff on essential legal topics, such as AB 1234 compliance, keeping them informed and ahead of the curve
Qualifications
- 5+ years experience public agency, municipal law, or a related area
- Detail-oriented, with strong research, analytical, and communication skills
- Comfortable working with a team environment and independently
- Member of the California State Bar
- Experience with government contracting, land use, labor and employment law, or environmental law is a big plus
