Established law firm based in Sacramento, with a busy, fast-moving litigation practice, known for putting newer attorneys into real work early. Our junior litigators regularly argue motions, take depositions, get client-facing work, and sit second chair at trials.
Responsibilities:
- Work through complex legal problems for a mix of public and private clients
- Draft briefs, legal memoranda, and other written advocacy
- Appear at hearings, law and motion, and trial
- Take and defend depositions
- Handle written discovery, from propounding to responding
- Research legal questions and counsel clients across a range of issues
- Review and interpret contracts and other documents
Desired Qualifications:
- 2+ years of litigation experience
- Strong research, writing, and analytical skills
- An interest in litigation and being in the courtroom
- Ability to read and and interpret complex legal documents
- J.D. from an accredited law school
- Active California bar license in good standing
